COVID

Canadian Guests

Because of COVID we and Hawk Air are required to adhere to regulations for physical distancing and disinfection. Please note that each person is required to have & wear a mask that covers their nose & mouth while on the Hawk Air property & on the flight. Guests are also required to wear masks inside the lodge unless they are seated for a meal or beverage.

All guests 5 & over are required to be fully vaccinated to fly with Hawk Air.

United States Guests

The Government of Canada has announced that effective April 25, 2022, fully vaccinated travellers will no longer need to provide a pre-entry COVID-19 test result to enter Canada by air, land or water. Fully-vaccinated travellers may still be subject to random testing upon arrival, however they will not be required to quarantine while awaiting their test results.

This Government of Canada video is a good source of information on travelling into Canada:

Government of Canada Video on Entering Canada

All guests are required to be fully vaccinated to fly with Hawk Air.

Partially or unvaccinated travelers under 12 years old are no longer required to be vaccinated to travel into Canada from the United States as long as they are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians.

All travellers will continue to be required to submit their mandatory information in the ArriveCAN app 72 hours before their arrival in Canada. Travellers who arrive without completing their ArriveCAN submission may have to test on arrival and quarantine for 14 days, regardless of their vaccination status.

Canadian tourism organizations NOTO, TIAO, TIAC and the Northern Ontario Border Working Group continue to advocate for the removal of random testing and for the development of a plan to allow unvaccinated travellers into Canada.

Currently, the process & requirements for people from the United States crossing the border into Canada are:

  • Secure documentation of full vaccination against COVID viruses (Does not include boosters at this time).
  • Load COVID vaccination records on ArriveCAN APP or Website 3 days before crossing the border into Canada. https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/coronavirus-disease-covid-19/arrivecan.html. You will receive a PIN that will be required at the border.
  • There is a possibility, on a random basis, that Canada border services will require a COVID test in Canada. We will be available to guide you through this with updates as we know more. Right now it appears that at the Sault Ste Marie Michigan and Ontario border you may be given a test kit with the swab being carried out online with a nurse which will be placed in a provided Purolator bag to be dropped off for delivery to the testing facility.
  • Nightcrawlers are not allowed across the border at this time because of the focus on COVID.

Stay safe everyone, we will all get through this together!
